FAQ

  • What is Fawnalore?

Fawnalore is a living, playable universe — a complete game system that combines deck-building, tactical exploration, and an episodic story told through voice-acted motion comics. Pick a hero, open the box, and the adventure begins tonight. The game teaches itself as you play, one episode at a time. Season 1 spans three acts — Act 1 is where the story begins.

  • Do I need experience with other games to play?

Not at all. Fawnalore was designed for both lifelong gamers and curious newcomers. The first episode teaches everything as part of the story — you’ll be playing and learning within minutes.

  • How many people can play Fawnalore?

Fawnalore supports 1–6 players in its main cooperative campaign. You can journey solo as a Pilgrim of the Kairos or gather friends for a shared story — each hero brings a unique playstyle and role to the team.

But in PvP or custom modes, the only real limit is your table space. Combine multiple tile trays, build sprawling maps, and play as many characters as you dare. Think big — Fawnalore was made to grow with you.

  • What makes Fawnalore different from other adventure games?

Fawnalore delivers its story as a fully voice-acted motion comic — available on YouTube or any podcast platform. Watch for the full visual experience, or listen on your commute. Then bring that world to the table. A free episode setup page on fawnalore.com gives you everything you need to play. Nobody has built a game this way before. It's not just a board game. It's a complete universe.

  • When and where will Fawnalore be available?

We're currently in the playtesting phase, refining the game before our Kickstarter launch later this year. Follow the journey on The Journal to stay up to date — and be the first to know when the campaign goes live.

  • Can I help or get involved?

Absolutely. The best thing you can do right now is follow the journey — sign up for updates through The Journal and share Fawnalore with anyone who loves deep worlds and great game nights. When the Kickstarter launches, backing early and spreading the word is how you help make this real.

  • Does Fawnalore have a podcast?

Yes — each episode of the Fawnalore story is released as a fully voice-acted motion comic on YouTube, and as audio on all major podcast platforms. Watch for the full visual experience or listen anywhere. All 10 episodes of Act 1 release simultaneously — no weekly waiting unless you want that pace. The motion comic is in production now. Follow The Journal to find out when it launches.

  • How much will it cost?

Fawnalore will be priced in the premium category — the Act 1 box contains everything you need to play campaign, PvP, and sandbox modes with up to six players. Act 1 is fully self-contained. Season 1 Chronicles — Acts 2 and 3 — are sold separately and priced lower since they build on components you already own. Exact pricing will be announced with the Kickstarter launch. Follow the journey to be first to know.

  • Do I need to buy every act to enjoy Fawnalore?

Act 1 is a complete, self-contained experience. You can play all 10 episodes and finish the Act 1 story with just the base box. To continue the Season 1 story, you'll need the Chronicles — Act 2 and Act 3 each add new campaign tiles, new terrain, and new story content that picks up exactly where the previous act ended. Chronicles are priced lower than Act 1 since they build on components you already own.

  • Will my heroes carry over between seasons?

Yes — and they'll evolve. The heroes you play in Season 1 return at the start of Season 2 with new character cards reflecting how the story has changed them. Same characters, new abilities, new art, new forms. Your connection to them carries forward.
